In the early 1980’s my father (Rube Goldberg’s son) created a company (RGI) to support, manage and organize the competitions that honor his father’s legacy.  For almost 30 years our family has carried on this tradition and grown the RUBE GOLDBERG MACHINE CONTEST® to include not just colleges, but lower schools, middle schools and high schools – both nationally and around the world.  Thankfully, we are growing at a rapid pace – one that is exceeding our family’s resources.  As a result, we reorganized RGI, and this past summer we were awarded our not-for-profit, 501(c)3 status.

If parity in education is important to you we hope that you will join Team Rube by supporting the RUBE GOLDBERG MACHINE CONTESTs with a donation.  Harnessing science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in an artistic, collaborative and creative environment is a boon to teachers and students of all ages.

Anyone can participate in a RUBE GOLDBERG MACHINE CONTEST.  All you need is simple ingenuity, a pile of junk, teamwork and above all else, a sense of humor.  With your help we will continue to expand the number of contests and participants, broaden the diversity of our teams, reward our winners – and tell our story to a larger audience.

We are currently represented in 33 states, more than a dozen countries – and over the years Rube’s work has inspired millions.  It’s our mission to offer all students, from every socio-economic background, the opportunity to participate and compete in the uniquely rewarding Rube Goldberg mash-up of science, art and humor.  But we can’t do it alone.  So, not only would we appreciate your making a donation using the link below – we’d also be hugely grateful if you could forward this email to friends, family, fellow tinkerers, or gadgeteers!

Thank you – and have an INVENTIVE NEW YEAR!!
