Why we think we should win:
Our machine is the perfect demonstration of mad science using common materials. An example of this is our vibrating pyramid drop step, which uses a simple speaker to turn static friction into kinetic friction and allow a popsicle stick pyramid to slide down a slope. Besides, when we brought Rube Goldberg back to life, he said himself that we should be the winners!

Suggestion for next year's challenge:
Place glasses into glasses case, then close the case.

Our Step List

1. Mad scientist flips knife switch
2. Knife switch pulls string, opening burette, releasing universal solvent
3. Universal solvent trickles down ramp
4. Universal solvent moistens cellulose matrix at the bottom of the cup
5. Cellulose matrix tears from weight of ferrous orbs
6. Orbs roll down ramp
7. Orbs trigger mousetrap
8. Mouse trap pulls clothespin off of string
9. Newly released bat familiar swoops down
10. Bat knocks into shrunk 1 ton block
11. 1 ton block falls, pulling an invisible string in spacetime
12. This invisible string is coincidentally connected to the mouse, causing it to skitter across the workbench
13. Mouse becomes trapped in mousetrap
14. Mousetrap pulls release mechanism out from wound-up rubber band magnet mechanism
15. Rubber band unwinds, unscrewing bolt
16. Bolt releases magnet mechanism
17. Magnet pulls up horizontal spring
18. Spring releases miniature star inside
19. Miniature star is rapidly accelerated through clear tubing
20. Miniature star pulls down cup at end of tube
21. Weighted cup pulls string, pulling end of rotating rod
22. Rod rotates, releasing mini pterodactyl egg
23. Egg rolls down series of copper wire tracks
24. Egg hits mouse trap on cable car
25. Mousetrap completes cable car circuit
26. Cable car surveys Jurassic Park Mini
27. Luggage of cable car is hit by T Rex holding Dinosword, causing it to fall
28. Luggage hits rat trap
29. Rat trap pulls string, pulling lower syringe of hydraulics system
30. Upper syringe of hydraulics system drops weights onto siphon above workbench
31. Liquid siphon tube falls, starting a trickle of water through the hose
32. Siphon effect sucks water out of funnel and down ramps into a translucent receptacle
33. Receptacle falls, pulling string
34. String removes obstruction from marble track
35. Magnetic marble rolls down track
36. Magnetic marble accelerates into magnetic potential gradient caused by marble array
37. End marble shoots off of marble array
38. End marble tips over lever arm
39. Lever arm presses space bar, causing music to play
40. Playing music causes pyramid to crawl down slope
41. Pyramid hangs over the edge of the slope, releasing a sphere
42. Sphere rolls down ramp
43. Sphere launches weight off platform
44. Weight pulls string, pulling up balloon filled with baking soda
45. Baking soda reacts with vinegar, creating gas
46. Gas fills up balloon
47. Inflated balloon pushes up ramp with particle on it
48. Particle rolls, and falls into hole in table
49. Particle travels through gravitational particle accelerator
50. Particle hits mousetrap with great force
51. Mousetrap releases string, allowing suspended weighted coil to freefall
52. Rising counterweight tips popsicle stick apparatus
53. Tipping popsicle stick apparatus releases ball chain
54. Weight of falling ball chain pulls more ball chain out of cup, forming a solid siphon
55. Weight of falling ball chain pulls down beaker
56. Falling beaker rotates seesaw mechanism
57. Rotating seesaw removes magnet from phone dialing mechanism
58. Rotating phone dial charms the snake, causing it to slither towards the phone.
59. Snake removes structural support
60. Removing the structural support releases weighted lever
61. Lever pushes down on clothespin
62. Clothespin releases string, allowing umbrella to extend
