What we're studying:
We the 'Lions' are studying to study the most creative way possible to turn off a light using a sequence of actions while also trying to engage an audience with a wonderful story and even some comedic aspects in our machine.

Our Team Leader's favorite quote:
"Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much." --Helen Keller

Why we think we should win:
To say that we deserve to win seems a bit brazen so id first like to state that we already feel accomplished in the fact that my team and I have enjoyed working on our machine and we have enjoyed the journey taken while we worked on the task of turning off a light. We had a wide sense of emotions with every test that came by much like Rube Goldberg wanted to give his spectators emotions as well. Our machine has the capability to entertain our spectators with its overall theme and each individual yet interesting event. For this reason, we like to say that we have the capability to stride with top competitors in the 2020 Rube Goldberg competition.

Suggestion for next year's challenge:
While we did enjoy working on this task of turning off a light, something we would love to see is a competition in which the task is to pour a glass of water. This seems interesting and fun as it is fun to imagine a machine that can pour you something refreshing to drink.

Favorite Rube Goldberg video:

The Carter Lions invite you to our jungle mission to Turn Off The Light which has been drying up the ecosystem's waterhole. We'll travel together on every twist, turn and drop in order the save the animal's habitat. We'll work alongside several affected species of animals as they too are trying to save their water source. Come join our rigorous adventure.

Our Machine Verbal Presentation. This is your team’s chance to shine and be creative! We want to hear the story your machine tells, and understand how the steps represent the theme and key elements of your narrative. The Machine Introduction should not be a step-by-step explanation of how the steps work. This is where your personality, humor, and team spirit engages the audience and gets them excited to see your machine.
