What we're studying:
We are studying how to apply a Band-Aid to an object that is "injured". The challenging part of this Rube Goldberg invention is that it has to be a chain of reactions completed in at least 23 steps that affixes a Band-Aid to a Princess Leia Domino. Because Star Wars has such a strong fan-base, its merchandise flies off the shelves as soon as it goes on sale, especially Star Wars Band- Aids, which come in an assortment of different characters from the movies. One of these Star Wars Band-Aids will be used in our Rube Goldberg to put the final touches on Princess Leia. We have also been learning about and studying energy transfers, velocity, programming technology, and inclination. On the scientific side of the project, we have been learning about the energy transfers vital to the productivity of the machine. In the technological side, we have programmed our own Lego Mindstorm Robot we like to call "R2D2" at the very end. On the engineering side, we have built and measured our own ramps the size of the base and exactly where everything needs to go in order to hit one another. Also, using the equations and processes of math, we have measured our base and the incline that our ramps must be in order to be able to perform at its best.

Our Team Leader's favorite quote:
"To live a creative life we must lose the fear of being wrong."- Joseph Chilton Pearce

Why we think we should win:
We think we should win because we have worked tirelessly and came back from being tied for 3rd place to being tied for first place in our state. We have a creative theme and it ties in very well to the overall theme of applying a bandage. We are also making a tribute to a loved celebrity in Miss Carrie Fisher and also for her mother, who passed away not too long after her. We have worked countless hours on our Rube Goldberg machine and hope you enjoy it just as much as we do.

Suggestion for next year's challenge:
For next year's challenge, we suggest something more challenging to achieve, such as opening a can, pouring something into a glass, or opening a door. Perhaps this would make the completing the task even more challenging.

Favorite Rube Goldberg video:

Hi! We are PCBH and our machine invention is called Stars Aid.

Our invention utilizes a Star Wars theme that provides happiness and laughter while putting a Band-Aid on just about anything you need. Our product includes unique domino steps, specialized marble runs, laser imprinting to create a Princess Leia wooden components, and star wars VCR tapes falling into space.

Now, pretend as if you got hurt falling down a flight of stairs. Now we want you to apply a band aid to exactly the middle of your back. Not so easy is it?

Our Rube Goldberg Invention is designed to make these difficult tasks become an everyday skill. Enduring stressful situations such as the one imagined before can cause serious health risks such as strokes, high blood pressure, and various diseases.

So, why suffer? And why make others suffer? Now, you can just leave it to us to stick it and click it for instant relief, physically and mentally! Stars Aid is here to help with our Rube Goldberg invention.
