What we're studying:
Physical Science and Life Science

Our Team Leader's favorite quote:
"We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be?....Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine." Marianne Williamson

Why we think we should win:
We had terrific teamwork and creativity as we worked. We also used many parts made of recycled materials to make our machine.

Suggestion for next year's challenge:
-crack an egg
-turn a key
-type "goldberg" on a keyboard/typewriter
-flip a page in a book

We chose to share our machine to the theme music to "Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends" because it highlights both the importance of imagination and teamwork. (Also, the music is fun!)

Our Step List

1.) basketball bounces over stools and hits books
2.) books fall to pull string
3.) string pulls out blockade in front of car
4.) car (which we pulled back to store energy in its axles) is released to hit marble
5.) marble rolls down pipe insulation to hit dominoes
6.) dominoes fall on mousetrap (dominos push cars over edge of table and hit helicopter mousetrap)
7.) mousetrap releases the string to release spring
8.) spring pushes hockey puck off table
9.) falling hockey puck pulls out lids blocking the foam balls in the tube
10.) foam balls fall through the slinky into the bucket
11.) falling bucket pulls the string through the pulley
12) energy stored in bouncing slinky makes the zipper slowly go up
13.) zipper is pulled up
