Our Team Leader's favorite quote:
“It’s nice to be important. It’s more important to be nice.” -CJ the DJ, 105.1 WQSB, Albertville, AL

Why we think we should win:
We wanted to participate in this experimental event because we wanted to be challenged. Rube Goldberg, Inc., suggested 3 months to work on the project. We only had 6 weeks by the time we found out about the contest. Our machine is very creative and exciting. Throughout the whole process of creating this contraption, there were many sacrifices and hours staying after school to gather ideas for this project. The entire project itself was very fun and definitely worth our time to build this amazing contraption.

Suggestion for next year's challenge:
Open a door
Smash a TV
Make a goal (soccer)
Throw bottle in a trash can
Cut a string
Apply sunscreen
Throwing a paper airplane
Shoot a basketball in a hoop
Pour a drink
Wave a flag

Favorite Rube Goldberg video:

Our machine tells the story of a junkyard at night after the people have left, and the rats come out to play. The marbles represent all of the ‘junkrats’. After all the people leave, the junkrats decide to catapult themselves and slide down multiple slides and go down tunnels. They ride on toy cars and swing on swings and catapult some more. At the end of the night with all the rusty items, it is inevitable that someone will get hurt. So the rats go down a zipline to apply the band aid on an injured rat.
