What we're studying:
Simple Machines, Mechanical Advantage and Mechanical Efficiency

Welcome to our Amusement Park! Here you will see a fun day at the park including a ferris wheel, merry-go-round, and log flume ride, all to put on a bandaid! Our team has worked countless hours on this Rube Goldberg Machine. Everything was made by us with all supplies we found laying around ready to be repurposed. One French sculptor once said, ā€œNothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely.ā€ Creating a Rube Goldberg machine like this one, truly teaches you the meaning of this quote. Enjoy!

Our Step List

Step List

A marble is dropped into a ferris wheel
The ferris wheel rotates around dropping the marble onto a track
The marble rolls down the track and hits a train
The train rolls forward, and the needle attached to it pops a balloon
A golf ball (which was inside the balloon) is released down a ramp
The golf ball knocks over a toilet paper roll
The toilet paper roll falls over causing The weight on top of it to falls down
When the weight falls, it pulls up (an elevator) using a pulley
When the elevator rises it pushes up one side of a lever
The opposite side of the lever is lowered and a ball falls off the end of the lever down a track
The ball hits a button to turn on the fan
The fan blows and the air current spins the merrygoround
The merry go round has a popsicle stick attached to the side, which knocks over dominos
The dominos hit a train.
The train rolls down a track and hits a piece of wood.
The wood falls, releasing the hot air balloon
The hot air balloon soars down the zipline and hits a piece of wood.
The piece of wood is knocked over and hits a train
The train rolls down its track onto a lever.
The opposite side of the lever rises, lifting the hook off of the log flume
The log flume is released and goes down the tunnel
At the bottom of the tunnel the log flume hits a pendulum
The pendulum, which has a band aid attached to it, swings
The pendulum swings towards a piece of wood,
At its maximum swing it hits the wood, sticking the band aid to the wood!
