Why we think we should win:
We think our team should win because we have not only put a lot of time and energy into building our machine, but we have also lived up to the spirit of Rube Goldberg by building our machine with whatever we can find, rather than simply purchasing all of the items for our steps.

Our machine seeks to be a reflection of the spirit of Rube: made mostly of recycled parts and whatever we could find lying around, it sets out to complete one of the simplest tasks with the most amount of steps, but also with the lowest cost. However, our machine is more than just a bunch crazy steps put together for no reason, it's meant to tell a story about the importance of industry in our daily lives, even in the simplest of things.

1. Pull drawstring to release marbles
2. Marbles roll down ramp into Lego cart
3. Cart rolls down ramp to activate switch
4. Switch activates motor move miner cart
5. Cart hits ball down tube
6. Hits another ball that falls down
7. Ball was connected to string that pulls trapdoor away
8. Gear falls down onto button
9. Button releases piston
10. Piston launches ball
11. Ball lands in cup attached to lever
12. Lever knocks over tile
13. Tile lands on mouse trap, triggers it
14. Mouse trap pulls pin to release marbles
15. Marbles roll down whirlpool and Plinko board, into cup
16. Cup is attached to switch, switch activates train
17. Train pushes lever to release hammer
18. Hammer hits button that releases piston
19. Piston pushes door lock to open
20. Door lock knocks over toy truck to roll down ramp
21. Toy truck hits lever
22. Lever hits yellow foam golf ball
23. Ball lands in cup attached to lever
24. Lever knocks over tile
25. Tile releases another golf ball
26. Ball swings over to hit another lever
27. Lever knocks another golf ball down blue tube
28. Ball hits another lever to release another ball
29. Ball rolls down ramp and triggers mouse trap
30. Mouse trap releases trap door
31. Weight drops, pulling weight with it
32. Crane hits a switch
33. Switch hits ball down tube(s)
34. Hits lever
35. Lever knocks down ball bearing
36. Ball bearing hits another lever
37. Lever knocks over another ball
38. Ball goes down series of ramps, falls in bucket to trigger mouse trap
39. Closed mouse trap triggers servo to release crane
40. Crane swings over to hit panel
41. Panel twists to hit car down ramp
42. Car travels down track to trigger mouse trap
43. Mouse trap pulls guillotine
44. Guillotine cuts string to release first weight attached to first scale
45. Also releases marbles down ramp
46. Marbles land in cup, which triggers rat trap
47. Rat trap pulls pin to release second weight attached to second scale
48. Two scales work to push each syringe
49. Syringes work together to lift and turn hydraulic arm to pour cereal!
