We had a lot happen this year at our school and a lot of lost build time but despite that, we have worked hard to make and finish this project. We never gave up and most important we had fun doing it.Suggestion for next year's challenge:
A machine that draws a smiley face.
Welcome to our first attempt at a Rube Goldberg Machine. We have dedicated our machine to Amina. Get well soon!
Our Step List
Step 1- Ping-Pong ball is released down ramp and rolls into paper tube.
Step 2 –Paper tube rolls down ramp into dominoes with ping pong ball inside.
Step 3- Ping-Pong ball is released and rolls out of tube and hits dominoes.
Step 4- Dominoes fall, which activates a Popsicle stick simple switch.
Step 4- The simple switch releases another ping pong ball.
Step 5- The ping pong ball rolls down the ramp into more dominoes on a stair step of blocks.
Step 6-The dominoes fall knocking a golf ball onto a marble trigger.
Step 7- The marble trigger shoots the marble up a pvc pipe ramp into a golf ball.
Step 8- The golf ball rolls down a short track and hits a marble.
Step 9- The marble rolls down a Styrofoam pipe tube into a Styrofoam cup on a pulley.
Step 10- The cup drops and the pulley lifts a bottle filled with vinegar topped by a baking soda filled balloon.
Step 11- The bottle standing up mixes the two items which causes the release of gas that inflates the balloon and also lands on a teeter totter.
Step 12- The teeter totter scares a toy elk which falls forward which releases a second teeter totter.
Step 13- The teeter totter sends a deer on a car for a ride down a track and runs into three golf balls.
Step 14- The golf balls fall into a oatmeal can on a pulley.
Step 15- The can drops and the pulley lifts a piece of pvc pipe cut in half with 3 golf balls on it.
Step 16- The golf balls rolls down a wall of angled Styrofoam ramps.
Step 17- The golf balls make a turn on a track and run into a wall of pins which fall on the balloon and pop it.
