Science, DT, and MathsOur Team Leader's favorite quote:
"Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known." - Carl SaganWhy we think we should win:
We've been working on this year's entry since September and think we've tried to be really inventive, using a London theme.
Our Step List
1.) A marble is dropped into a wheel (the London Eye).
2.) The wheel spins and drops the marble onto a ramp (the River Thames).
3.) The marble hits a boat which rolls down the ramp (Cambridge and Oxford University rowing teams).
4.) The boat hits a wrecking ball.
5.) The wrecking ball hits 2 lines of yellow and green dominoes (The District and Circle Lines on London's Tube. The District Line runs under the parliament buildings and we have the Elizabeth Tower shown which houses Big Ben).
6.) The dominoes hit a toy car (a London taxicab).
7.) The toy car hits a line of blue, red, and white dominoes (the colours of the Union Jack flag). [Edit: the dominoes were meant to spell out London, but were not cooperating on the days of filming].
8.) The Union Jack dominoes then hit another line of green and yellow dominoes.
9.) The dominoes climb a set of stairs.
10.) The dominoes hit a marble at the top of a ramp.
11.) The marble rolls down the ramp and hits a golf ball.
12.) The golf balls hit a cup filled with 100g masses.
13.) The cup of masses falls to the ground and pull the zipper up, using a pulley system.
14.) The Union Jack flag rises with the coat's zipper!
