Why we think we should win:
We're a 4 person team made up of entirely under-represented students in STEAM. We have worked hard and committed to going "old school", just like Rube Goldberg could have imagined our machine in his comics.

Suggestion for next year's challenge:
A competition on a school day would be nice. We would probably get more people if they didn't have to give up a weekend day.

Favorite Rube Goldberg video:
We call our machine Culinary Care, because it's based on a kitchen! It's attached to two pieces of plywood held together with brackets, and moves from one board to the next, to a tabletop, and finally to the floor.

6. Orange 2 rolls down ramp and along shelf
7. Orange 2 falls into can
8. Can falls and pulls pully, raising dustpan
9. Dustpan strikes swivel shelf and knocks flour off
10. Flour falls and pulls pully, raising Flour 2
11. Flour 2 strikes sugar
12. Sugar slides down zipline
13. Sugar strikes swivel shelf
14. Coconut oil on shelf pulls pulley down
15. Raises second swivel shelf with tumeric so it strikes another swivel shelf
16. Swivel shelf has string attached that pulls foam stopper out
17. Pool ball slides down ramp
18. Pool ball falls into a series of bowls
19. Pool ball falls into tube/ramp
20. Pool ball leaves tube and strikes spoon lazy susan
21. Lazy susan spoon strikes second pool ball
22. Second pool ball falls down ramp
23. Second pool ball strikes sugar box
24. Sugar box falls over and sugar falls through funnel
25. Sugar lands in metal bowl
26. The weight of the bowl triggers a pulley attached to a chopstick
27. The chopstick is pulled out of the "trigger" of the mousetrap
28. The mousetrap swings closed with a long arm and foam cushioning attached (bandaid adhered here)
29. Bandaid is applied to kitchen glove
